Students
Services for undergraduate and graduate students of IIT, Shimer, VanderCook, and I-Share colleges and universities.
Borrowing & Circulation
Circulation privileges are available to all registered students. Collections at IIT and from dozens of Illinois academic libraries are available through the I-Share catalog, which allows you to search, request and renew materials online 24x7. Note that your IIT ID card is required to circulate or borrow materials. Recalls can be applied on any IIT or interlibrary loan materials borrowed. See the Borrowing & Circulation page for more information.
Interlibrary Loan
Create your interlibrary loan account in MyILL to request materials not available in I-Share or journal articles not available in full-text in the library's research databases (which can be accessed from on- or off-campus). See the Interlibrary Loan page for more information.
Reserves
Reserve items are available at the Circulation Desk on the Lower Level of the library. Textbooks or other print items placed on reserve by instructors can be searched through the IIT Library Catalog using the Course Reserves tab. See the Course Reserves page for more information.
Research Assistance
Students can talk to a librarian about research topics, how to use the catalog or a database or where to find materials in the library. Librarians can be found at the Reference Desk on the Upper Level or students can contact librarians by phone, email or IM. In depth, one-on-one consultations or assistance with special projects like IPROs and EnPros can also be arranged with any of the subject specialists on staff. See the Ask a Librarian page for more information.
