It can be difficult to obtain an item that is used as required text for a class. To prevent the loss of valuable study time, please consider purchasing a new or used text rather than requesting a textbook via interlibrary loan.
When requesting a textbook through the library, keep in mind:

1. High demand for certain titles can cause delays in filling requests for our patrons

2. Some libraries do not lend textbooks

3. Borrowed items circulate according to the lending policy of the owning library, which means items borrowed 
    through interlibrary loan (ILL) may NOT be kept throughout the entire semester

4. Items borrowed through interlibrary loan and not returned on time will cause the borrower to be subject to
    loss of library privileges

5. Some textbooks are placed on reserve by faculty for student use. Search the IIT Library Catalog for
    reserve titles. Reserve titles are located at the Circulation Desk on the First Floor
