Catalogs and Books
Use I-Share for express borrowing or use WorldCat for Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Both
catalogs allow IIT patrons to obtain books, articles, and other materials
not owned by, or currently available at, IIT Libraries. Access to I-Share
is available to IIT faculty, students, staff and eligible patrons.
Interlibrary Loan services are offered free to IIT faculty, students and
staff.

Local Search: Use the IIT Library
Catalog to search for books and journals held by Galvin Library and any of IIT's branch libraries. View your patron record at
"My Account" to see items checked out from I-Share libraries.
Search the local catalog for print journal titles.

Express Borrow:The I-Share
catalog allows 24/7 access to the catalogs of dozens of academic
libraries that are part of CARLI
(Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois). Search, request and renew
items without the assistance of library staff by using the "MyAccount" feature. For information on Chicago area or
suburban I-Share Libraries that IIT patrons can visit and borrow items
directly, consult
this list.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL): WorldCat
is an online catalog that contains the holdings of more than 8,000
libraries worldwide. Patrons can place requests in WorldCat
for materials not owned by IIT or not available in I-Share.

Resources

Books 24x7 is a
database of more than 5,100 online, full text eBooks in the IT field from
more than more than 100 publishers including AMACOM, Wiley, MIT Press,
and Microsoft. You must be a student, faculty, or staff member of IIT
in order to access Books 24x7 both on and off campus.
