Borrowing & Circulation
Eligible patrons of the library include: the IIT community, including faculty, students, and staff; employees of IITRI Life Science; University Technology Park (UTP); VanderCook and Shimer students, faculty and staff; subscribing alumni; authorized Visiting Scholars; and valid I-Share patrons.

If you have no affiliation with IIT or any library that has reciprocal borrowing arrangements with IIT, you may still borrow IIT books through your local public library's interlibrary loan service.
Suspension or Loss of Circulation Privileges
Privileges may be suspended or removed from an eligible IIT patron for the following actions:
- Failure to return a Reserve item
- Failure to return a recalled item
- Failure to return a book owned or recalled by another institution
- Overdue fines which have exceeded the threshold
- Overdue items which have exceeded the threshold
Please allow 48-72 hours for the removal of blocks from your library record.
