IIT's Response to September 11th

In this time of tragedy, information is one of the most important assets
anyone can have. Unfortunately, there are those who
use these incidents to increase the damage done through false virus warnings,
hoaxes, urban legends, and misinformation. An example of this is the recent
Klingerman Virus Hoax about opening gift packages in the mail
contaminated with a disease. This rumor is completely false, and is
detailed at the Center
for Disease Control Web Site.
The staff of the Galvin Library is committed to making you aware of these
hoaxes, and pointing you to good sources of information.
