MISSION STATEMENT
A
branch of the Paul V. Galvin Library, the
mission of the GRC is to support the curriculum goals and
educational aims of the College of Architecture (COA) at the
Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).
The GRC is charged with meeting all library-related needs of
the COA and responsibilities include: acquiring, preserving, and
serving materials in myriad formats to COA students, faculty, and
staff; maintaining additional resources, including the Crown Hall
darkroom, the COA Archives, the Graham Resource Center Web Page, and
an Audio-Visual equipment collection; providing reference and
research assistance to local, national, and international visitors
about architecture in general and IIT and Mies van der Rohe in
particular, and; providing bibliographic instruction to all GRC and
Architecture researchers and users.
The GRC's primary responsibility is to provide to its users
service, materials, and instruction befitting a historically
significant Architectural program and to act with passion,
historical awareness, and intelligence in assisting the Dean, the
faculty, and the students in their academic pursuits.
