Power Switch

  1. Turn on the power by flipping the switch on the right side of the machine.
  2. Ensure that side door of machine is closed.

Loading Microfilm

  1. If the fiche drawer is engaged, then disengage it by pulling the drawer towards you, sliding the drawer to the right and then pushing it away from you until it locks and the arrows match.
  2. Turn film advance knob to "Off". The knob is off when the line on it points vertically.
  3. If the film size is set to 16mm, then set the film size to 35mm.
  4. If the film threader is closed, then open the film threader.
  5. Place film spool on axle.
  6. Feed film into green threader.
  7. Feed film 3-4" past glass.
  8. Close the film threader.
  9. Press the "Load" button. The machine should then load the film.
  10. If the machine does not load the microfilm on the spool, then the film has either been threaded too far or not far enough.

Loading Microfiche

  1. Remove film spool (if any).
  2. If film threader is open, then close the film threader.
  3. Turn film advance knob to "Off". The knob is off when the line on it points vertically.
  4. If the fiche drawer is disengaged, then engage fiche drawer by pulling it towards you and then sliding it to the left.
  5. Pull the fiche drawer out fully until the glass rises.
  6. Place fiche under glass.
  7. Re-engage fiche drawer until the glass descends.

Loading Paper

  1. Remove paper tray by pulling it out straight towards you.
  2. Engage two tray locks.(.MPG)
  3. Place paper in the paper tray.
  4. Flip up paper tray clip. (.MPG)
  5. Replace paper tray.
  6. Check to see if the paper tray light is on. If the light is not off, then either the paper has been loaded incorrectly, or the tray is not completely loaded into the machine.

Viewing Materials

  1. Slide fiche tray back and forth and side to side to view microfiche OR use film advance knob to advance or rewind microfilm
  2. Use focus to improve readability
  3. Use image rotation knob to rotate image
  4. Use zoom knob to zoom in or out on image
  5. Use "scan" slide to view parts of image currently off of the screen

Printing Materials

  1. Center the portion of the image you wish to copy using lower and upper blue crosshairs. Only the information contained within these crosshairs will be printed
  2. Use the zoom knob to adjust the size of the image. The closer the zoom, the larger the image will be on paper.
  3. Use the focus to clarify the image. If you can't read it on the screen you won't be able to read it on the copy.
  4. Press mode button until the copy mode is set to "Auto".
  5. Insert one dime. Quarters will allow one copy to be made, but no change will be given. Multiple dimes inserted at one time will be lost as the machine can only register one dime at a time.
  6. Check light to ensure that the dime has registered with the machine. If the light is not lit, check the coin return to see if you dime was rejected.
  7. Press print button to print the current page.
  8. Receive page at knee level in front of you.
