Computing & Wi-Fi
Galvin Library offers a number of computing services for IIT patrons. If you have questions or need assistance using library computers, contact the Reference Desk on the Upper Level of the library.
Galvin Library offers a limited number of laptops for use by current IIT students, faculty, and staff.
Laptops may only be used inside the Galvin Library. iPads circulate outside the library for 3 days.
To request a laptop:
- Go to the Circulation Desk on the Lower Level of the library.
- Complete the Laptop Borrowing Agreement form or the iPad Borrowing Agreement form.
- Present a valid IIT ID card.
Please carefully read the Borrowing Agreement form for applicable policies and guidelines. Note that by signing the Borrowing Agreement form, you are responsible for ensuring the laptop or iPad is not damaged, lost or stolen while in your possession, and you will be held liable for any repair or replacement fees.
In addition, iPads will only be issued between the hours of 9:00am -10:00pm. iPads should be returned to the desk at any time on the day they are due. Laptops can be issued at any time the library is open.
