Faculty Borrowing
Privileges
IIT faculty are eligible to borrow from
the university libraries and the
CARLI I-Share Libraries.
If the school is
part of the CARLI I-Share group, IIT patrons can
borrow circulating items with their current IIT
ID.
Please use the following link for a listing of
CARLI I-Share institutions and links to
their Web pages.
Details of the benefits and responsibilities for borrowing
Galvin Library materials may be found in the Circulation
Policy.
New faculty wishing to register for borrowing
privileges may do so at
the Galvin Library Circulation Desk. Please have your IIT photo ID with
you.
Faculty may sponsor others (such as a student assistant) to borrow
materials on their behalf. To request this service, please complete the Faculty
Borrowing Proxy application and take or send it to the Circulation
Department.
The Galvin Library maintains a membership for faculty with the John
Crerar Library of the University of Chicago. The Crerar membership allows IIT
faculty to borrow materials from the Crerar and Regenstein libraries
located on the University of Chicago campus. The membership also includes browsing privileges in the two
libraries for the bearer of a browsing card. Policies and procedures of the host and/or lending institution
will pertain. Contact Pattie Piotrowski, Assistant Dean for Public Services,
piotrowski@iit.edu or 312.567.3386 to make
arrangements to use the card or visit the member libraries.
In order to make our
electronic resources available to the IIT
community from off-campus locations, the Galvin
Library uses EZ-Proxy. Once logged
into EZ-Proxy, users can gain access to Galvin's
electronic
journals, databases,
and E-reserves.
Faculty and staff of the Stuart, ID, and Main
campuses will enter their email user
name and password to access these resources.
To
log on to EZ-Proxy go to http://ezproxy.gl.iit.edu.
If you have any
questions, please contact the Galvin Library Reference Desk via email, IM, or phone.
