Automatic E-mail Distribution of Relevant Journal References, Internet Sites, and Books Delivered to You

The Galvin Library has been working with database vendors to add features to their databases.  We are now able to offer automatic e-mail delivery of relevant journal reference, Internet sites, and books to you.  Several of our databases offer this service free of charge to the user.  

One of the best databases to offer this is Current Contents.  This is a database of over 7,000 journals in all fields with a focus on science and engineering.  A search strategy of subjects and/or authors may be constructed and readily stored on the system.  As the database is updated weekly, matches of the search strategies are automatically made against the database updates and the results are sent to you by e-mail.  Most of these services function in this way.  They are referred to as SDI services.
